Pennsylvania biotech greenhouse looks to roots for chairman

BioAdvance, the Biotechnology Greenhouse of Southeastern Pennsylvania, has appointed Sam Katz, one of its co-founders and an investor in the region, as board chairman and named two new directors to its board. Katz takes over from Philip Gerbino.

Surveys of pharma execs see more rocky times ahead

Two surveys of pharmaceutical executives released Tuesday suggest a troubling, or at least tumultuous, future for an industry that employs thousands of people in the Philadelphia’s University of the Sciences president Philip Gerbino, who was quoted in the report, seemed to suggest that entrenchment and chaos - "entropy," as he put it - were reasons why companies were slow to improve on their research programs.

The Health Care Fraud Summit on Friday, June 17 shined a national spotlight on the University

With Attorney General Eric Holder and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on hand, a packed STC Auditorium played host to local, regional, and national law enforcement professionals. The Summit provided an opportunity to announce a new fraud tracking system. Every article mentioned University of the Sciences.

Dr. Gerbino provided the welcome remarks and had an opportunity for a photo op with both Holder and Sebelius.
