Business Insider, STAT News: Medical experts say Trump’s plan to deregulate the FDA 'would be a terrible thing’

Darshan Kulkarni, USciences alumnus and adjunct professor of biomedical writing and pharmaceutical and healthcare business, was quoted in a story regarding President Donald Trump’s move to deregulate the FDA. The interview was published in STAT News and Business Insider.

“My general perspective is that industry is overall been happy with the pace” of FDA approvals, said Kulkarni, an attorney who focuses on FDA law. “I think there’d be more, for lack of a better term, quacks coming onto the market if there were less regulation.”

Brookings Institution: Using earnings data to rank colleges: A value-added approach updated with College Scorecard data

Colleges with the highest medium-term value-added for federal aid recipients are often focused on training for high-paying careers in technical subjects. University of the Sciences in Philadelphia trains many students for careers as pharmacists, among other health-related occupations.

Philadelphia Inquirer: Government scorecard rates colleges based on your future salary

For the first time, this new U.S. Department of Education database ranks schools by graduates' salaries 10 years later, and links them to such factors as tuition costs, total debt, and graduation rates. The clear local winner was the University of the Sciences, with a median income of $82,203 after loan payments. Loan balances total a median $27,000.

Pharmacy Times: USciences Produces More Top Earners Than UPenn

The first college in the country to teach pharmacy produces higher earners than the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League school in the same state. University of the Sciences (USciences) not only beat the University of Pennsylvania on average salary among alumni after 10 years, but also produced the highest earners than any other school in the state, including other prestigious colleges such as Villanova University, Carnegie Mellon University, Bucknell University, Haverford College, and Swarthmore College.
