About Dr. Thielman

Thielman is a certified athletic trainer and a licensed physical therapist. His research interests include geriatric and neurological practice, kinematic analysis of trunk/upper extremity, the consequences of stroke on reaching and the rehabilitative strategies to facilitate recovery as well as the movement and clinical measures analysis of therapeutic interventions to assist individuals post-stroke. He conducts this research in conjunction with area facilities Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and Temple University Hospital. Dr. Thielman’s on-campus research efforts are conducted in the Physical Therapy Department’s Patricia Leahy Movement Science lab, of which he is the Director. 

Thielman received his EdD in movement sciences from Columbia University, and his MSPT and BS from Springfield College.
