About Dr. Murphy

Dr. Murphy’s research interests include analysis of perturbations in signal transduction pathways resulting from ras oncogene expression and the relationship between oncogenesis and heat shock protein expression.

Dr. Murphy is past-president of the Northeast Association of Advisors for the Health Professions and was an executive officer of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions. She is an active member of the American Society for Cell Biology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Association for Women in Science, and Association for Women in Cancer Research.

Dr. Murphy earned her PhD in pathology from Hahnemann University School of Medicine and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center Department of Pediatrics and SmithKline and French Laboratories Corp. Department of Tumor Biology. She conducted master’s research  in biology at Bryn Mawr College and her BA in biology from Rosemont College.
