Nancy Shils Says Goodbye
After nearly six years with the University, I have decided to step down as USciences’ alumni director as of
July 3. It’s very sad to say goodbye, but I am excited about the prospect of being free to spend more time working on those projects I am passionate about. Among those, I am delighted to be joining my brother on a feature film development, which we’ve been collaborating on for years. Last, but not least, I will be honing my skills as a first-time grandma.
And now that the “official” word is out, I wanted to take a minute to personally reach out and say how much I’ve enjoyed meeting and kibitzing with so many of you over the years at our receptions and events. From LA to AC and from Hershey to Highland Beach—it’s been a treat for me to play such a part in connecting you with each other and with the University. Building relationships has been the high point of my job—and I do hope many of the friendships I’ve made will endure despite my absence from campus. Lastly, the time and effort so many of you provide in support of your alma mater (attending events, speaking on panels, hosting receptions, being class reps, and more) never ceases to amaze me! With such full schedules, I am in awe of your commitment. I wish you all well and thank you for making my tenure here at the University a happy and satisfying one.
