Glenside News: Police department swears in new lieutenants, sergeant

Officer Thomas Scott was promoted to sergeant. Scott holds a BS in health science from the University of the Sciences.

Villanova 77, University of the Sciences 44 – USciences played a Div. I opponent for the first time in its 25-year history.

The host Wildcats (4-2) set a season-high with 15 three-point baskets in beating the Devils. Villanova's Lindsay Kimmel led all scorers with a season-best 15 points. Laura Sweeney (Cherokee) pulled down eight boards and dished out four assists and Emily Leer (Abington) had four rebounds and three steals. The Devils were led by Carolyn Edwards (St. Basil) with 11 points. Isabella Ross (Central) came off the bench to grab five boards.

Pennsylvania biotech greenhouse looks to roots for chairman

BioAdvance, the Biotechnology Greenhouse of Southeastern Pennsylvania, has appointed Sam Katz, one of its co-founders and an investor in the region, as board chairman and named two new directors to its board. Katz takes over from Philip Gerbino.
